Funnebone the Conservative : Kiss My GOP

Go ahead and cast your stones of assumption. I know how you liberals like to think we are all bible banging rednecks who drive around with confederate flags in our pickup trucks. You take comfort in the dillusion that we sit on rocking chairs cleaning our guns so we may have a better shot minorities, homosexuals, women, adulterers, the homeless, union workers and whatever other group you like to force people in to. I have news for you: all of your evils are not realized. I know this will be as dissapointing to you as finding out that Santa was just your drunk uncle Ralph dressed up, but it is the truth. You can no longer go through life thinking 50% of the population of this country is the enemy thereby ignoring your own prejudices, stereotypes, shortcomings and misinformation.

Who am i? I am a single male who has never been married and has no children. I live in a blue collar neighborhood located about fifty yards from interstate 95 just south of the Philadelphia airport. For work I am a Doctor and college instructor and for play I sit around and wonder how to pay my bills. You see, I am not rich, in fact I am struggling mightly much like many other Americans.

This may dampen your plans to build a republican voodoo doll this weened at your Obama ralley. Instead of painting a Ken dolls hair grey and dressing him in a suit before placing him in barbies dream house before dousing him in lighter fluid you may have to change his apperance. We all aren't old pale skinned rich people. Contrary to popular belief we don't meet in dark rooms plotting how to supress everyone who doesn;t look like us, or have sex like us, or talk, walk, speak, chew or hunt like us. Most of us get up and go to work without thinking of the ramifications of our actions on the rest of the world and the yet to be born generations.

Like I said I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia. You most likely will hear about us as the election nears because we are they key region in one of the most important states. Southeastern Pennsylvania is the most heavily populated area of the state. It is made up of the city of Philadelphia and the five counties surrounding it. My county ( Delaware ) lies directly south of the city and is bordered by thew Delaware river to the east and the sate of Delaware to the south. As with most northeastern suburbs most of the people can trace their roots back to the closest city, in this case either Philadelphia, Chester and sometimes Wilmington , Delaware. As people made more money, they left the cities and moved into the suburbs.

Most people in my county are either still working blue collar jobs or are only a generation or two removed and as such retain these type of values. The northeastern republican has little concern with abortion, gay marrige or endangered species. We generally want less government, a strong military and some sense of personal responsibility. Our blue collar roots support our tendency to root for the underdog and to stand up to the bully. Unions are very strong in this area as are the police forces. We are not immune to the crimes that every other community faces but our courts tend to deal with criminals much more proportionatly than Philadelphia does and it shows in most of our streets.

My neighborhood is 95.5% white according to city data .com.

While some of you alternative energy breathing liberals will jump at the chance to call me a racist because I live in an all white neighborhood you may want to put your Al Franken id card back in your pants. The whole county is 80% white and of that Chester city is 75.70% African American, 0.20% Native American, 0.61% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 3.03% from other races, and 1.51% from two or more races. So the chances of me living in a predominantly white area are pretty high. This has to be pointed out because the new cool thing to do by liberals is to find subvert racism anywhere where racism is not evident. I will admit that I do not think about other races when contemplating buying my food, walking my dog, teaching my classes or treating my patients. I am guilty of being so selfshish and self absorbed that I worry more about someones education or health than their genetic make up or sexual preferences.

I could state that I have black friends, gay friends, handicapped friends, and other non white male friends but once again I would be accused of overcompensating for my subvert non existent biases. I have even been known to leave the santuary of of my one man white boy clubhouse to be with women and have even gone as far as not carring about their reproductive rights and not asking them to come clean my toilets.

The idea that conservative have an underlying motive to supress others is just silly. There is no club, no secret handshake or password. There are however a shared core of ideals that we hold to that serve as the basics of our belief system. They are not concrete particular issues nor are they always black and white. I am presenting myslef as spokesman for republicans or conservatives but rather dispelling the myth that we are all cut from the same Shroud of Turin
